Let me start out by saying that many of these thoughts started out in a word document and were never intended to be posted on a blog. I thought these thoughts on October 5, 2009
I’ve always wanted to write a book, but I never thought I would be able to. Then I thought, maybe if I write down everything I’m thinking, eventually it will be long enough for a book. So I began to write a diary. But that is way too girly (although I am willing to admit I’m a total chick, admitting so would solidify my status as a girl, thus I will never admit it) so I decided to write a journal. But then I realized my life is so boring and if I actually put my thoughts on paper and let the world and every random person that I didn’t know read them I wouldn’t be the same person and I wouldn’t be able to live with the thought of all those people (all three of them) knowing what I think. The thought of having other people know what my thought process is creeps me out. I’ve heard I think so differently than other people that I think differently than they do… I really have no idea what to say, I’ve just heard I think differently than other people do. so i decided to compress my thoughts in to blog form. I hope my thoughts are enjoyable…
There’s so much to say, I don’t even know where to start. We’ll begin with punctuation… I love it. No I hate it. But I love the ellipses. You’ll see it all over the place throughout the book. Any other aspect of grammar, you can say goodbye to. Spelling on the other hand, will be excellent because I have spell check… amazing. But I’m off topic again, the ellipses… I’m not really sure how I got onto it (my old girlfriend Karen might say it was her who got me hooked or maybe it was Kara… I disagree with both of them) but it is truly the most helpful punctuation I have in my punctuation arsenal. I use it as almost every other form of punctuation… I’ve used it as a comma, a colon, a semicolon, a period, a question mark, quotes, an exclamation mark, and parenthesis (the second most useful or perhaps the third, maybe the fourth… whatever they are, they’re underrated). Unfortunately I never know how to use other punctuation with parenthesis… oh well…
Times new roman… world’s greatest font… why in the world did windows change from the classic times new roman to Calibri… and they changed the size… Calibri is too large to be the same size, so it has to be switched down to 11 point font… it is so annoying to have to change to times new roman and 12 point font every time I get on to Microsoft word. You might find a different font occasionally to make a point or because I’m bored… which probably means you’ll be bored so I hope they interest you when you see them (of course I hope you enjoy everything but…)
i totally agree, the move to calibri was bullshit
