Sports with My Dad

I don’t know how many of you have ever watched sports with my dad, but it’s quite an interesting affair. For starters, to get the full experience, you should be at his house when you do, and it’s especially good when he’s in the kitchen and you’re in the living room. Don’t get me wrong, I like to be with him, but the kitchen tv is just faster than the one in the living room, so sometimes you hear his enthusiasm before you even know what’s happened. Those of us who know have labeled this effect: the kitchen, as in oh, the kitchen’s happy or the kitchen seems upset by that call. But if you do experience this experience, you should also be sure to spend some time with him actually near him watching the game. It’s extra good because he has actually developed the kitchen sense to an art. Even when he’s not in the kitchen, he knows what will happen before it does. In football, for every flag he calls the foul before the announcer, in fact most of the time he calls the foul before you even know there’s a flag. But his ability goes past flags and fouls, he also knows what to say about the game. Yes that’s right, he makes the commentary before the announcers do. It’s almost scary sometimes because he will be word for word correct before the announcers say it. This is the level I would like to get to while I watch sports.
